How to: Configure Alta Cloud Connector High resilience mode

Last modified: Tuesday May 21, 2024.

Configure all of the Alta Cloud Connectors in a Server group to work in High resilience mode.

Prerequisites

To create a High resilience group of Cloud Connectors, you must have at least three Cloud Connectors configured as a single Server group.

Risk of damage to equipment or loss of data!

If the connection to one or more Cloud Connectors fails, perhaps due to a power outage, during the configuration of the High resilience mode, it can lead to the Cloud Connector becoming unavailable.

We strongly recommend that you create and save backups of each Cloud Connector within the Server group before enabling High resilience mode, to enable the Cloud Connector to be restored to its original configuration in the unlikely event of this situation occuring.

Task — Create a High resilience Server group

  1. Choose Tools Tools > System System.
  2. From the Cloud Connectors area, select the Server group of interest.
  3. From Cloud Connector group settings, click Enable high resiliency.
The Cloud Connectors communicate with each other, making copies of configurations and databases to be used in the event of a fail-over. This process might take several minutes to complete, depending on the number of Cloud Connectors and the number of devices connected to each one.
  4. The Server group now shows the High resilience mode icon High resilience icon, indicating that all Cloud Connectors within that Server group are enrolled in the High resilience group.
  5. Click Done.
