Receive notifications and remotely view video and alarms from your Alta Aware deployments on your Android mobile device.

To receive notifications on your Android mobile device, you must ensure your Alta Aware deployment has Remote access enabled.

With the Alta Aware mobile app, you are no longer tied to your desk for these tasks. Securely receive notifications about alarms and anomalies on your cellular device and view the accompanying video for these events.

You can also view the video feeds from any cameras connected to your Alta Aware deployments.

Getting started with the app

To use the Alta Aware mobile app for Android devices, you must already have a user profile set up for the Alta Aware deployments you want to monitor with, as a minimum the following permissions:

  • View live video
  • View historic video
  • View devices in video view
  • View alarms

To install and use the Alta Aware mobile app for Android devices:

  1. Install the Alta Aware mobile app on your Android device, using the usual Play Store work-flows.
  2. Connect to your Alta Aware deployment: enter your server name (for example, aware-test-server) in the Deployment name field.
  3. Tap NEXT.
  4. Enter your Alta Aware Username and Password.
  5. Tap SIGN IN.

During testing, we have found the following issues in the release.

6886 Issue: If you enable the Alta Aware mobile app for Android Play Video on WiFi only option, if you sign out of the app and log back in, the setting is returned to the default Off setting.
Issue: When attempting to play back recordings from some early Avigilon Ava cloud-native cameras, no video is displayed.
6515 Issue: If you change from viewing video over Wifi to viewing over Mobile/Cellular data, or vice versa, the video stops and does not restart until you manually scroll the timeline, or click the Move to Now button.
6473 Issue: Occasionally, when viewing Aware Cloud deployments from the Android mobile app, the devices either show spinners or a black screen, and do not update with the live video feeds.
5264 Issue: Occasionally, when there are multiple notifications, clicking on the older notifications results in a spinner being displayed on the login screen.

Issue: When using the app to view multiple Alta Aware deployments, you might experience intermittent issues when signing into and out of each deployments.

Workaround: After signing out of one deployment, close the app, then reopen the app and sign into the next deployment.

4815 Issue: Occasionally, when attempting the minimize the device group, it is unsuccessful.
