Last modified: Tuesday October 25, 2022.

You can search for different sounds being made within the range of your Avigilon Ava cameras.

Alta Aware only detects sounds that are picked up by Avigilon Ava cameras.

Prerequisites

You must have Avigilon Ava cameras connected to Aware or Aware Cloud in order to search for audio detections.

Task — Search for audio detections

  1. Open Tools Tools > Search Search.
  2. Click Appearance search.
  3. Select the required sound types:
    • Glass breaking
    • Loud noise
    • Gun shot
    • Screaming
    • Smoke alarm
    • Car alarm
    • Ultrasonic panic alarm
  4. Select the Minimum confidence level of sound type required to appear in a search result. The available options are: Low, Medium, or High.

Low will cause the search to match on more sounds, but more false positive matches are likely.

High will experience fewer false positive matches, but might miss some correct matches.

  5. Click Next.
  6. Select the Avigilon Ava cameras to be used.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Select the date and time frame for your search.

If configuring a Manual time period, choose either User time, or Camera time.

User time is the time in your local timezone. Camera time is local time for the chosen camera.

  9. Click Search.
Thumbnails of the video clips containing the audio detections are displayed.
  10. Hover over, and click the Play Play for the clip of interest.
The video opens, displaying the Map view of the audio detection, including showing an indication of the location of the noise.
