How to: Add walls to your site maps

To improve the accuracy of the placement of object dots in your Map view, define the position of walls and room dividers.

Prerequisites

Ensure you have uploaded your site maps, and that the maps are linked to the correct site. See How to: Upload site maps to Map view.

Task — Add walls

  1. Choose Tools Tools > Map view Map view.
  2. Toggle Map view into edit mode: Edit mode button
  3. Expand Maps.
  4. Choose the map to update with wall locations.

    Site maps are grouped by the site or office to which they belong; expand the site or office to view the site maps associated with that location.

  5. Click Enter wall edit mode button Enter wall edit mode.
  6. To draw a straight wall:

    1. Click Single wall tool Single wall.
    2. Choose Single wall.
    3. Click and drag the wall onto the relevant position on the map.

    To draw a multi-segment continuous wall:

    1. Click Single wall tool Single wall.
    2. Choose Continuous wall.
    3. Click the start position for the first segment of the wall.
    4. Click the end position of each segment of the wall. This automatically starts the next segment of the wall.
    5. Double-click the end position of the final wall segment.

    To draw the walls around a rectangular area:

    1. Click theRoom walls tool room walls button.
    2. Click and drag the walls from one corner to the diagonally opposite corner of the area on the map.

    To edit an existing drawn wall, first click the wall icon in the middle of the line. Then, adjust the end points to match your requirements.

  7. Repeat for any other walls or room dividers as needed.
  8. Click Done.
  9. Toggle Map view to show: View mode button.
